We welcome the esteemed Swedish men's acapella group, KÄRV.
While they’ve toured throughout Europe for many years, we are excited to host their first US performance here in Seattle with a musical repertoire that includes contemporary music as well as traditional Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish and Danish songs.
Composed of ten men, KÄRV was formed when these singers and musicians met as students at Stockholm’s prestigious music high school, KungsholmensMusikgymnasium, in the early 1990s. Although KÄRV’s members now work in varied professions, including as musicians, composers, musical directors, physicians and teachers, their love of music and performing has kept the group going strong.
Their visit to Seattle marks the celebration of a milestone event. Dr. Ulrik Wallin, one of the founding members of KÄRV, moved to the US in 2008 and has since become an integral part of the musical community in Seattle. Although Dr. Wallin works full-time as a surgeon at the Polyclinic in Seattle, he also performs regularly at Benaroya Hall as a member of the Seattle Symphony Chorale.
Join us in welcoming KÄRV at the Swedish Club, for an evening of soulful melodies and heartfelt harmonies that span the traditions of two continents. Performance begins at 5 PM.
